Pipe Freezing is the process of creating a freeze plug inside the pipe so that work can be performed on the pipe downstream of the plug. Once the work has been completed and the system sealed, the plug is allowed to thaw. Pipe freezing cannot be used where fluid in the pipe is moving, the liquid contains product that cannot be frozen or the temperature is high.
